Bedrock AgentCore Memory adds application-defined isolation boundaries

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Memory now supports up to five custom namespace variables per memory resource. Applications can organize long-term memory by tenant, organization, team, environment or another runtime dimension without duplicating memory strategies.

Why it mattersLong-term agent memory is a data-isolation problem as much as a relevance feature. Explicit, application-controlled namespaces make multi-tenant designs clearer and reduce the risk of retrieving one customer’s context inside another customer’s session.

GitHub unifies Copilot agent policy and changes enterprise billing defaults

GitHub announced that Copilot cloud agent, Chat on GitHub.com and Chat in GitHub Mobile will converge under one experience and policy no earlier than September 28. It is also moving code review to Balanced effort by default and introducing upfront seat billing changes for card- and PayPal-funded Business and Enterprise accounts.

Why it mattersPlatform teams need to revisit both access policy and budget assumptions before the rollout. A unified agent surface reduces configuration fragmentation, but broader reach and new billing behavior can expose previously hidden governance and spend gaps.

AWS expands Blackwell Ultra capacity to Hyderabad and São Paulo

EC2 P6-B300 instances are now available in Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) and South America (São Paulo). Each instance provides eight NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs, 2.1 TB of high-bandwidth GPU memory, 6.4 Tbps EFA networking and 4 TB of system memory.

Why it mattersRegional access to large accelerator clusters affects latency, data residency and capacity risk for foundation-model training and inference. Hyderabad is particularly relevant to Indian engineering teams that previously had to place top-tier GPU workloads farther away.

CloudWatch agent reads journald directly and preserves structured metadata

The Amazon CloudWatch agent can now collect systemd journal entries without first exporting them to disk files. It retains unit, priority and process metadata and supports filtering by unit, priority, fields and regular expressions.

Why it mattersModern Linux distributions increasingly treat journald as the primary log source. Native ingestion removes a brittle forwarding layer, preserves richer diagnostic context and lets teams filter noise before paying to ingest it.

Visual Studio exposes organization-published custom Copilot agents

GitHub’s August Visual Studio update adds organization-level custom agents to the agent picker, along with controls over reasoning, model choice and code-review workflows. Visual Studio displays each agent’s description and organization source.

Why it mattersReusable agents can encode an organization’s architecture, testing and delivery conventions directly in the IDE. Clear provenance matters because developers need to distinguish centrally governed agents from repository-local or personal customizations.

Aurora MySQL 3.13 adopts MySQL 8.0.45

Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible Edition 3.13 is generally available with MySQL 8.0.45 community fixes and Aurora-specific improvements. AWS supports in-place or snapshot-restore upgrades and phased rollout through AWS Organizations policies.

Why it mattersManaged databases still require deliberate engine lifecycle management. Staged organization-wide rollout gives platform teams a practical way to combine security and compatibility updates with canary validation across many clusters.

AWS Transform enters FedRAMP Class C scope

AWS Transform is now in scope for FedRAMP Class C in US East (Ohio), allowing regulated US government workloads to use the AI-assisted application modernization service under the former Moderate baseline.

Why it mattersCompliance scope is often the gating dependency for AI-assisted modernization in government. This expands where automated analysis and transformation can be used, while keeping authorization boundaries and human review central to delivery.

Grok 4.6 reaches Amazon Bedrock in GovCloud

Amazon Bedrock in AWS GovCloud now supports SpaceXAI Grok 4.6 through Responses, Chat Completions and Converse APIs. The model offers a 500k-token context window, configurable reasoning effort and cross-Region inference across both GovCloud regions.

Why it mattersRegulated teams gain another frontier-model option without moving prompts and outputs outside GovCloud boundaries. The common Bedrock APIs also make model evaluation and substitution easier than building a separate provider integration.

Graviton4 C8gn networking instances expand to Paris

EC2 C8gn instances are now available in Europe (Paris), offering up to 600 Gbps network bandwidth, 120 Gbps EBS bandwidth and sizes up to 48xlarge. AWS positions them for network appliances, analytics, CPU inference and tightly coupled clusters.

Why it mattersHigher network throughput can remove the host bottleneck around data-intensive services and distributed inference. Regional availability also gives European teams another route to meet latency and residency requirements without using x86 by default.
