N-able fixes a critical pre-authentication RCE in N-central

N-able disclosed CVE-2026-86218, a critical vulnerability that can allow unauthenticated remote code execution on an N-central server. Versions before build 2026.3.1.14 are affected; N-able says hosted N-central instances are already patched and that it has no confirmed production exploitation.

Why it mattersN-central is a privileged remote-management control plane, so server compromise can create broad downstream risk. Self-hosted operators should move directly to Hotfix 4, verify the exact server build and avoid treating the preceding Hotfix 3 as sufficient.

Google SecOps adds case-wide playbooks and event-driven reaction triggers

Google SecOps introduced preview support for case playbooks that run automation across a full case container rather than one alert at a time. New reaction triggers can also start playbooks when live case or alert state changes, including assignee, tags, priority or newly added entities.

Why it mattersSecurity incidents rarely remain isolated to one alert. Case-level automation can reduce duplicated analyst work, while state-change triggers shorten response loops—but preview controls should be tested carefully to prevent noisy updates or broad actions from firing unintended playbooks.
